Cheers to bottomless thanks to one of the most important person in our lives, Mum! Jo’s showcasing how she can create more project with just one featured stamp set – Tea Time by Avery Elle We love the different techniques she’s used!
She left her colouring to be a more of a free hand watercolouring effect. She was not concentrating to stay within the lines nor was she being precise. Today, Jo simply let the inks do the work and blending themselves by using a saturated wet brush. Jo ink blended with a range of Distress Oxide Ink colours and an ink blending tool on Ranger watercolour cardstock. When she personally works with Distress Oxide Ink colours and watercolour cardstock, she feels that the watercolour cardstock saps up the inks so she usually adds more layers than she would on normal cardstock. Each panel has been blended then spritz with the Ranger Distress Sprayer and picked up with a cloth (you can use a paper towel too).
TIP: When watercolouring use a Archival type ink so the ink does not run when watercolouring in.
To watercolour Distress Oxide inks however is another matter! Jo finds the pigment picks up really well so if you would like a more watercolour effect she would personally use a saturated brush. Everyone will find their own methods and tricks, each to their own when it comes to watercolouring! Jo claims to be no expert by all means (but we think she is!!!) and she just loves to play and have fun. She has created 3 different cards using the coloured tea cups and distress oxide blended panels.
The sentiments can be interchangeable with other stampsets. For today, Jo had used those that are part of this Avery Elle stampset but with Mother’s day just around the corner you can use Mother’s Day stampsets that suit tea cups. Her mother-in-law has the best fine china tea cup collection and she just loves going over there as she gets mesmerised by the design, details and feminine touch they all have. This card set will be given to her mother-in-law as her Mother’s Day gift! She loves how her mother-in-law has taught her so much about hand made gifts as she is a seamstress by trade and can make anything look fabulous.
